Here is a quote from an e-mail sent to WGC shop for the same question as this topic:
"Own the upgrade parts is not illegal but if you use it to upgrade the airsoft is illegal. Thanks, -- Best RegardsAllen WongWGC ( Hong Kong )http://www.wgcshop.comContact : http://www.wgcshop.com/contactus.htm" So it is exactly like the stores call "High Times". They sell all stuff needed to smoke weed but, DO! Smoking weed is not legal. |

Oh we do hate you, just never felt like wasting the time to give you a user title :P

if you can fire a .36g bb @ 600fps it is around 6 joules that if a fire arm.
however if you buy a wal mart springer and paint it black and and use it in a crime that is also a fire arm

No, it is not. It would be a replica firearm, or maybe even only an imitation firearm. In any case, it would be subject to the same punishment(s) as an actual firearm without being an actual firearm.

wow Necro post!
And never trust the RCMP website or wording. Always refer to the criminal code. The RCMP like to "adjust" laws to suit their own interpretations. |

Good luck getting the RCMPs website to stand up against the criminal code of canada in a court of law.
Criminal code is the law, and the law says you cant go over 500fps and 5.7j simultaneously. If it was 500 or 5.7j then all paintball guns would be illegal. (The actual wording in the CC is confusing, but read it carefully since its like a double negative) Cbsa states guns must be over 366fps for import or else they ****MIGHT**** be considered replica firearms. This is not a law, its simply an import policy. There is currently no ownership law stating a minimum muzzle energy for an airsoft gun. |
