AK batteries

Got my first ak (e&l ak74) and none of the plethora of 11.1 I use for my m4s seem to fit. Tried long/short stick types, triple nunchuck and even have an oddball 11.1 lipo that looks exactly like those 9.6v nimh sticks that are advertised for AK style guns. Only thing i have gotten to fit are my old 7.4 butterfly style lipo. Any help or links would be much apreciated.

I had the same problem with stick batteries with my LCT and Real Sword, I assume you're having the same problem. Basically on your stick battery you presumably have a wire running down the length of the battery. There will be a cut-out/notch in the "gas tube" of your ak for this wire to fit in. Basically to fit a battery in either of my AK's I have to twist the battery until the wire lines up, then it pushes right through and fits maybe half in the gas tube and half in the top cover.

When I first got my LCT it was really difficult to fit the battery in even when it was lined up. When I finally got it in I just left it in over night and now it the fits battery comes in and out with a lot less resistance.

There are AK-specific "mini stick" LiPos. Makes your life a lot easier.
But usually the only LiPo that will fit are indeed 7.4 nun-chuck/butterfly type, when placed in the notch for the wire...
Or if you remove the whole top/fake bolt, then you can sometimes fit a 11.1v stick type (thin ones).

Yup you'd need to get round cell stick types. They're made out of 18650 rechargable cells.

There are some prismatic LiPos that fit, and are MUCH better than 18650 packs...

Ooooohhh... those dimension numbers look like they'll fit in mp5k battery tube. Bookmarked

Having tried one, yes they are better. 18650 usually allow 5A at best.

I tried some when I had my CYMA AK74 (not the best gun, but in average so it's a good reference). 18650 pack was no better than a regular NiMh stick. Prismatic LiPo was like any other LiPo, and it fitted without any issues in the gun.

It's definitely a good option for MP5K!

Ended up getting my triple 11.1 to fit with some effort/swearing profusely. Gas tube on the e&l seem to be a much tighter fit than other ak brands but was able to get the single cell with the balance charger in and the other two under dust cover barely. What a pita that's gonna be but atleast I got it in there.
