I heard awful things about the S&T G36C, and I've heard decent things about the GSG G14. If I had to pick between the two, I'd get the GSG, but I wouldn't pick either one overall.

I heard both guns are good and very comfortable for both play styles especially with the fold able stock on the G36CV.

If you want to get a G36, I'd recommend a new Ares (not S&T) G36C. It is less likely to break when running an 11.1V lipo and will certainly last longer without needing repairs. Unless something has changed, the S&T G36CV has no mosfet, just a microtrigger, which means high power batteries will pose a real threat to the longevity of the gun. Furthermore, it means worse trigger response and no burst function compared to the Ares G36C which has a mosfet preinstalled.
