Elite Force SL 14 speed/mag loader review

Hey all. So I thought I'd do a quick review for those who are not yet familiar with this product.

This review as mentioned in the title is on the Elite Force SL 14 mag loader or as I like to call it a speed loader.

So for those that are under a rock. The SL 14 is a pump action mag loader. With each pump of the grip it will load up to 40 bbs at a time. For those like me with a 120 rnd mid-cap that's three pumps.

I'll leave the operation of it very basic. You push down the flap and load in up to 1800 bbs into the hopper. Put your mag into the mag well and then pull back on the slide. Lift up on the tab push the slide forward and reapeat. There is a bit more to it than that, but others on YouTube have described the use better and easier. After all a picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth a dictionary.

The good: loading mags is quick, easy and with very little mess (or lost bbs). Because it's a pump action there are no more cramped thumbs. Also causes it holds up to 1800 bbs in its hopper, you can play all day and not have to refill it.

The bad: first and foremost at this time it only works with AEG M4/STANAG mags. Hopefully Elite Force will make adaptors for smaller mags and a new unit out right for AK and M14 mags. The other major issue ( and this just happed to me yesterday) is that the unit is all plastic, with the exception of springs, pins and screws. The latter of that list is the problem. When you screw in metal screws to a piece of plastic and then put any force against that screw, the plastic will fail. In this case it resulted in the screw stripping the threads out of the plastic which cause a feed channel widening and the bbs to bunch up and jam. This I fixed by adding a new and bigger screw. I thinkElite Force should at the very least redesign it so it has metal screws as well as metal Nuts.

Overall the SL 14 is a great purchase. If you want to load your mags faster the SL 14 is the product for you.
