KJW KP-08 broken part after one game...
I bought this pistol at the start of the year, but I only get a two week warranty from the seller, so if this needs to be fixed I'm on the hook for parts.
Anyhow from the parts diagram here: http://www.kjworks.com.tw/photo/13185702113.pdf There is a hook on the bottom of part #23 'Chamber Cover (Left)' that has snapped clean off: The gun seems to fire fine, cycles properly etc. I can't imagine why that hook would be there if it wasn't functional though. This is a tough question to answer I guess, but should I be ordering this part or should everything be fine as is? |

Your gun likely still cycles fine because the right side of the hook is still present. I would probably replace it for reliability's sake, or at least have one on hand in case the other side breaks from more stress.
That's not a common break, I would be asking the retailer what they could do about it. |

They said two week warranty, the end.
I wasn't prepared to accept that given the fact that it's gamed once and is only a month old. I haven't heard back since that conversation but that was only earlier today. |

whut. I've never seen that part break before.
good news for you, 1911/hicapa hop up units aren't that hard to find.

That's no biggie,
Just Order some spare parts. If local shops don't have it , order from over seas. I have lots of spare parts for my KJW P226. I have not needed much to replace after 4 years other than routine maintenance such as nosel or two and some springs. Just pick yourself up some spares and you will be fine! |

You can't cheap out in this sport.

I forgot to mention this,
You are lucky you had a warranty, some places now have dropped warranty in order to give cheap cheap prices. Cheap is not always in your best interest. Yes I agree it was an unusual break. |

I didn't think this was a particularly cheap pistol? Nothing is cheap in Canada anyhow!

Agree,
My point is that the parts are cheap enough that you can have spares handy. |

If you have time, I can send you a Hopup shell that would fix that. Somebody recently stepped up and sent me a part like this.
I know how frustrating it is to find these parts. They are basically out of stock in Canada or you need to pay a fortune for an aftermarket part. Drop me a line. |
