When I was in grade 6-9, I had something similar for cycling to the school in the rain.
Not nearly as good as a hard shell jacket, especially when tlit gets windy. still better than an umbrella (but I guess you won't go with that). I still have that thing now, but I cut the hood part off to use the thing as a cover when cutting my hair.

I'm sure the mil name for it is some long stupid one, but that is not really what you asked for, and asking for a poncho at clothing will get you just that.
I would just get a hardshell jacket because I find slaves far more useful than a tarp.

Don't listen to these guys.
They don't want to share the awesome power of cape culture.

Love the German WW2 zeltbahn (shelter/poncho quarter), awesome piece of kit.
Few other countries followed suit Gather 4, and you have a basic tent. On it's own, small piece of cover, or a poncho, etc.. http://www.zeltbahn.net/poncho.htm http://www.zeltbahn.net/tent.htm

If you looking for waterproof there is the stealth suit. Its pricy though.
http://www.cpgear.com/store/clth/stealth_suit.htm There is military rain coats as well that you can fit your gear over. Parka Wet Weather Field Type, CF, OG107 , 8405-21-907-9711. You can get pants as well but it goes swish swish and isn't that quiet. I carry that in my backpack for when it rains. |
