metal type
i hope to be getting some laser engraving done and the man that is doing it asked me to find out what kind of metal my ics m4 is. i have searched ics web site as well as through many pages and cant find any info dose anyone know.

Best bet is to test the laser on some unseen part and take note of the reaction.

As long as the laser is turned down low and then increased slowly nothing bad will happen. I have never played with engraving lasers before so I am purely guessing from this point on.
