Taurus PT92 - Not cycling properly

Hi Everyone,

Looking for some insight on my problem. It seems that my PT92 is no longer cycling properly. Mags aren't leaking and are full. Pull the trigger and it fires but the slide will not move far enough back to chamber the next BB. Also, when firing with an empty mag, the slide doesn't go far enough back and catch to signal an empty magazine. The slide catch does work manually.

I did however notice that if I push up on the bottom of the magazine so it is seated more firmly/higher it will cycle properly and the slide will lock open on its own when the mag is empty.

If anyone has any thoughts as to what the problem would be I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

All I can add to this is that I have a PT99 and it has the same issue. So I'd love to know too.

From what it sounds like, there might be a leak between the mag and the feeding nozzle. The fact that it works when you push it up is a pretty big sign. As for what to do, I know on some KJW mags, you can shim the feeding lip. Don't know about those ones

I have tried shimming up the rubber gasket on the magazine seemed to help a bit but not completely. But I agree, it seems like that is where the leak would be.

So I bought a brand new KJW mag tried it, and the gun cycled properly.
I took apart all my old mags and really oiled up the o-rings and valves to prevent any leaks.
I also noticed that the mag catch on the lower frame was a bit worn, same with the groove on my older mags. Switched around the mag catch so its a left handed release.
Seems to hold the mags tighter in the gun.
So it was likely multiple problems.

Hope this helps some people.
