Tokyo Marui L96 Not Catching
So Im attempting to field a used Tokyo Marui L96 and while I love the rifle, it has one major issue... the sear (from what I've read online) just doesn't want to catch UNLESS I ***SLAM*** the bolt down almost to the point where I feel I'll break the damn thing. I can pull the bolt back, push forward, load a bb and pull the trigger with -nothing-, it's not locked in place, it's not stuck, the trigger pulls back as though the gun isn't loaded.
The only way I can get it to fire at this point is if I lift the bolt arm up (to the point where I could pull it back) only to slam the darn thing down again. Would purchasing the Zero Trigger solve this issue? As it was explained to me by the previous owner, this is a "common issue" with these guns. Whether it is or not is neither here nor there, I just want to use the gun on the field without giving away my position too easily by getting up, swearing at the gun, kicking it across the grass before taking out a pistol, shooting myself in the foot, yelling hit and saying "fuck this!' before going back to the car to get my AEG. Help?

I know its not a TM L96 but my CA M24 had an issue similar to that. It was the spring that locked the piston sear in place that was too weak. I just put a stronger spring on mine and voila problem went away.
Worth a look. And dont buy a zero trigger. Buy this --> S-Trigger Last edited by chaz; May 7th, 2014 at 22:19.. |

If you remove the trigger block, there is supposed to be 3 thing protruding.
From the rear, is the bolt-locked lever, spring guide lock and sear. Your bolt-lock lever seems to stick. That disconnects the trigger from the sears. Check that, and maybe adjust as needed (sand/file). |

Im not going to try and open the gun any more than taking off the body shell. I'm simply afraid things will go awry like they did back in 2001 when I tried to take apart my TM SPAS 12.... a rifle that blew up in my hands.
chaz, I don't quite understand but what does that S-trigger DO?

Its a less expensive hand built version of the zero trigger basically.

Comparing a TM tri-shot to a L96 is like comparing taking apart a car to opening a jar of PB...
There is only a few screws, and if you don't open the cylinder, there is nothing that is under tension or pressure. Also, if you want to swap the trigger, go with the best: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/laylax-ps...l#.U2rrUlfRZNE NOTE, this does require you to open the cylinder. Still a LOT easier than an AEG or a spring shotgun. |
