Dyeing a shirt OD green. Possible?

I recently picked up a rare, difficult to get combat shirt in my favorite camo. However, the plain, base color is not to my liking. It's more of a whitish/tan color, whereas I want a OD green. Am I out to lunch on this? I've seen some online about making Rit dye formulas for this, but am having trouble finding any success stories. I don't want to ruin an expensive combat shirt by doing something wrong. Any help?

Clothing dye, I bought a tan color to make fake $10000 stacks of cash. Look for OD color dye online.

dye job . first rit dye is geared to natural fibers, ie cotton and wool. nylon and other synthetics wont hold the color. if i recall rit doesn't make an olive drab so mixing would be required, you would need sample swatches of the same fabric and base color to test on as od mixing will be a very dark rit color to make. keep in mind that you can just dip a patterned fabric as the dye will change all not just the light shades. if i can help with any info from past experiences let me know
