hi capa vs single stack 1911 hop up
hi guys i would like to know if a hi capa hop up would work for a single stack we 1911 meu? the reason im asking is because when i open my meu for maintenance then i found out that where the hop up wheel sits it broke off... also the small square thing that holds the hop up and the outer barrel shattered into 3 different parts ....
thanks in advance! Mr. JK! |

The hi capa hop unit does not have the post to hold the guide rod. The meu hop unit has the post to hold the guide rod.
You will have a problem fitting the meu hop unit into a hi capa if you have a full length guide rod. You can remove the post and use your hi capa guide rod. You can put a hole in the guide rod to fit over the post (might still have install issues because full length guide rods for meu are two parted and screw together in the middle) or you can use an meu guide rod that is shorter. |

Are you referring to the small little black piece that fits on the WE hop up? Its the little piece that screws into the hop up unit and holds the outer barrel on.
Well if you want you can simply replace that part. Tiger111hk sells the part under WE oem replacement parts and is about $4 shipped. Jordan |

Yes, a hicapa hopup would work in a 1911,
You have I assume a WE as you're describing the plastic bit that has a screw thru it, which keeps the hopup from sliding past the outer barrel. You can replace it another piece of plastic, or a square bolt that fits the screw you have. As far as replacing the post that the wheel sits on, this I can't help you with, sorry.

Once those parts are broken (especially the wheel post), the hop up chamber is pretty useless. You'll need to replace it.
I have OEM Tokyo Marui 1911 hop up chambers in stock, as well as upgraded/reinforced versions. I don't recommend using Hi-Capa chambers unless you have an interest in doing a number of conversions to your setup to make it possible. While you could just jam it in, the spring guide base will not be supported, and can make take downs/reassembly a bit of a hassle. Contact me via PM if interested.
