Not much market I guess?
I only paid $180 for my RS M1 Garand.

mine is the Italian made one by Breda, but the stock was pretty messed up so I replaced it with a synthetic stock.

You bought a M1 Garand for $180? That's a great deal, but obviously that's not the norm. Most people want an arm and a leg for one.

funny thing is I got it from from that place in MB that was bought out by Cabela's, S.I.R. I believe it was called at the time. Love my old timer rifles, the one just above my Garand in the attached pic, although you cant see it all is a Winchester M1917 Enfield, also in 30-06.

Cabela's is nice. I used to buy from Century International Arms in Quebec, now I buy from Marstar.ca almost exclusively. Currently their real SKS is less than $200.

Of even for $80 if you buy a case of ammo.

Update: I'm going with a TM MP7 gearbox, since it so compact, but the FPS is silly low.
Personally, I love GBB. Does anyone think that I could edit (machine down) a current gas action to SKS dimensions and have it still function? The We G39C comes to mind as a possibility.
Or am I on glue?

Why not just mod the RS SKS CAD into a GBBR, replace the bolt head with a nozzle, put some gas in the magazine.......PROFIT!!!

*edit derp didnt read the post above mine, DO EET, id say try with WE AK parts maybe? who knows, the new MP5 bolt is pretty small so could be fit into an SKS too probably

Actually I'm thinking your idea of replacing a bolt head with gas nozzle.
I wanted AEG because of no moving parts outside of the gearbox, but a GBB SKS? Fap!

Please, do! I'm in way over my head, and it's not so hard after you get used to it. Try a free 3D software called Blender. You can find tonnes of tutorials on YouTube.
My other hobby is RC modelling, and I've produced electric ducted fans as small as 15mm that have decent thrust, and have made many addons for a free flight sim called YS Flight.
The more the merrier!
