vBulletin Update (Chrome compatibility)

For those who've been living under a rock, Chrome now holds over 42% of the browser market. Its closest contender is Firefox with 18%.

Chrome has been leading for the last 3 years.

Yet ASC's WYSIWYG is still not compatible with Chrome. I'm aware there is no official release supporting it, so it's not really the ASC team's fault, however there are several mods bringing the functionality (assuming upgrading to vBulletin 4 is out of the question).

That would be great to see that corrected. Having to install extension is a pain for the end user.

Now assuming it stays that way and the mods aren't installed, users can use plugins like this one to make ASC believe it's running Firefox and you'll be able to edit using the WYSIWYG editor.

But it still sucks for the end user.

Chrome can't open ASC, or something tech related? Because I can surf, use, etc, ASC on Chrome.

I think the issue is WYSIWYG, I am guessing that on other browsers when you mark up text in the editor is appears at it will render, not as [MARK]something[/MARK].

I am hesitant to install a Chrome extension though as some malware/ad-injector interest is going to buy the extension and silently update it with malware/ad-injection.

Firms buy popular Chrome extensions to inject malware, ads

I never use WYSIWYG so I wasn't even aware of this issue. </official capacity statement>

Exactly DustMagnet. That's why I don't like this way of doing it.

Drake, I understand and agree that for 90% of the posts it's not necessary at all... except for sales threads (which is quite a significant part of the site's activity), for which I find it to be a must. Managing, updating, editing big sales thread is just way easier when you have the pic side-by-side vs having to read every single line.

Now I know I'm a whore and have an unusually long sales thread but I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Anyway, now you're aware of the issue :P Would be great if you guys could look into it!
