Is this legal?
Hi,
I'm still rather new to airsoft, so I am wondering about the legality of a purchase I want to make. I want to buy a WE 950 (Beretta 950). It's a "mouse gun", is very small, looks almost identical to the real thing, but the grips are different. It shoots low like 220fps and such. From what I understand it may be a considered a replica because of its close similarity and sub 366fps velocity. However Andy's airsoft on their website has it for pre-order, I contacted Andy and asked about the 366fps thing and if he can really get one. He said, that yes he can get one because they have a process for importing. So would I or Andy be committing any crime by importing one and me buying one? I mean, I'd like one, but not enough to risk breaking the law. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwuY869JGSE |

Andy can get pretty much anything, there's ways to make any pistol shoot over the minimum threshold temporarily for importation. Since its only an importation law, and not an ownership law, once its in country it can be reverted back to its original condition and sold to you at a safer power level.
