50 Shades of Coyote Brown.
I'm very interested in purchasing an RRV or Vest (Not yet decided) and I wanted to know which replica brand makes the most accurate shade of coyote brand to the real deal? Ive heard that Flyye makes a good shade that is pretty close to the real deal, But what about Pantac? or any other brands? The thing is I also want a reeaaally good quality vest that i wont have to purchase another one later on.
Thank you! |

IMHO its better quality then flyye and pantac, its also cheaper and real steel so their colors will be what the real guys wear

Condor stuff is a sort of "Coyote Tan" color, which is light/more khaki than Eagle CB (technical spec "Coyote Brown 498"). It's a decent match but it is lighter.
Pantac is a bit greener than Eagle CB. Hard to tell, but side by side it has a greener hue to it. Flyye has a browner hue on some stuff, although I've seen some pouches that were almost identical. Keep in mind it varies too, by brand and even by batch: different runs of CB from Eagle do run slightly different shades. USSOCOM CB (AITES Coyote Brown 499) is also browner than USMC CB (Eagle). Fireforce CB is also browner than Eagle's. At the end of the day I'd advise you to pick the quality of the vest over the shade of CB (unless you're desperate to get a dead on accurate impression): cuz most of your pouches and stuff will end up not matching perfectly anyway.

Anyway like a friend told me.. are you going to a freakin' beauty show or what ? thats gear to hold your freakin mags on your vest... who cares if it is not the SAME shade 100% accurate? I already rocked black pouches on tan vest just because I needed the pouch and only had a black in my hands...
all in all, what you need is the good quality stuff that will make the job... it doesnt need to be perfect color fit.

2. Yes - it's (mostly) cheaper 3. No - it's not "RS". Most of their stuff is chinese-made reproduction of the big names (Eagle, LBT, etc). 4. No - "real guys" generally don't wear that. You'll occasionally see a pouch or a pack because it's cheap and available locally, but even issue stuff (cheapest supplier, often made by blind people) is generally much better than Condor. Their clothing (fleece & softshell) is decent, but their gear is horrible. Flyye is -as far as replica goes- pretty good, but if I were you I'd go thru the classifieds right here before... You can often find used (and often like-new) Eagle, LBT, etc... real gear for the same if not cheaper than you can buy repro. As for your main question, yes Flyye has the closest CB shade of the repro companies.

I have found that Condor makes some Coyote TAN and Coyote BROWN stuff.
The CB stuff is exactly the same as the Blackhawk! stuff (got two B! and tow condors on my vest). Only ever found two, so that's why. It's either discontinued or really hard to get. As for vests, I had a CIRAS MAR and RRV before (both from Condor) and they where supposed to be CB both. There was a difference in the tint, so depending on the batch, it's not exacly the same. Now, REAL Coyote Brown stuff uses different tints on the same vest (buckles, straps, elastics etc.) I found that the smallish difference is nrealy invisible when new, and completely impossible to see once you have fielded your vest a day or two. Get some dirt on it! |

My Flyye gear is almost identical to my Eagle CB (all FSBE II stuff).
Of course, every manufacturers CB is different. My LBT, FirstSpear, PIG, BFG, Paraclete is all somewhat different, but all labeled CB in colour. If you go for a replica brand, go with Flyye. It's pretty high quality gear (probably on par with Eagle Civilian stuff), better than Pantac or Condor and it's coloration is the closest to Eagle CB i've ever seen.
