I checked my manual regarding the dual channel use. I can set a primary on my 888d, but the radio will sweep all remaining channels - I can't actually select the desired secondary channel.

So, either this is a secret squirrel function, or I'm not reading the manual/executing instructions correctly.

You can choose what the channels are, i dont have my manual with me atm but it was 2 buttons you pressed and it would switch whatever the main channel was, then you could set it to lets say 5, then you swap them around so now 5 is the 2nd channel then you set your other channel to lets say 6. You will now be watching just those 2 channels. and if you wanna talk on 6 you have to press the button combo to swap around which one is the primary one.

It works well, but i just dont like having to actually touch my radio, id rather have a button on my ptt that swaps the channels for me. Kinda like a remote control for my radio, if you will.

Viper, I wrote to radioshop888 and they don't have this wonderful gadget, if you find one, please tell me, I'm in the same situation with my radio.

Viper, I'll give that a try once I'm home. If I'm sucking large, I'll find you in the morning.

Won't happen unless you buy a radio that is specifically able to change primary channels via a remote! It's not a function that many radios currently have but I have seen a commercial use radio that had a shoulder mic with a channel A/B switch. Even then I am not sure it was one that had dual monitoring or if it did anything more than change channels.
