Mossberg 590 shotgun, $25 at the hardware store. No batteries required. Small and durable. Even comes with a tact light and a non working scope that will put a smile on your face! Magazine could be better, but you can modify it to take m4 magazines.

I vote Real steel M-4/Car-15 with Simuntion! Throw in a real .223 round now and again for "thrill factor!"
