CA M24 Mag/Cocking Issue

Greetings Airsoft Canada community!

I have a couple of questions regarding my CA M24 that I am hoping you can help me solve.

1. I recently bought a bunch of CA M24 mags and they are all messing up (cracking, misfeeding, Spring gets jammed while only putting 20 rounds into a 25 round mag). What are my other options for mags seeing how the CA ones are crap?

2. When I pull the bolt back on the rifle I cannot use the proper way to pull it back (grabbing the bolt handle and pulling it back) I have to choke up on the handle almost to where the cylinder is and pull it back from there. No I am not a weakling, it just will not pull back. So how can I remedy this situation?

Thanks again Airsoft Canada community, Hope to hear back soon.

1) The mags are what they are, APS Mags work with a bit of modification but I would still stick to the CA ones if possible. Metal Mags are not availiable for the CA M24

2) Thats normal, you should be cradling the bolt with your hand as cranking the handle will bend your cylinder and damage it.

As Dark Angel said, you have to cradle the cylinder when cocking the rifle, not only does it reduce the wear on the cylinder and bolt handle, it makes a strong spring easier to compress.

And never slam the cylinder forward, ease it forward so you can feel the BB load or if it won't go any farther. The follower sticks up in the way of the nozzle after the last round has been shot, and hitting that with the nozzle forces the follower to cant up, which chews away at your feed lips, which causes double feeding every shot or two. At least that can be fixed with cutting and shaping one or two pieces of thin brass the same size as the feed lips and using instant glue to hold them on. I'd been doing that for years with my two CA mags, lasts a few thousand shots, then have to either reglue or make new ones.

Another thing, due to the mag design, it's normal for misfeeds, what I do is use a piece of velcro sleeping bag strap, wrap around the foregrip where the mag is, and use that to keep the mag from sticking out, never misfeeds that way, and to reload, slide the strap forward then back over the fresh mag.

Lastly, you should take your mags apart and see if there is any obstruction causing you to only be able to load 20 rounds. Typical is 24 rounds, as 25 will keep you from pushing the mag into the rifle with the cylinder full forward.
