M16 Shorty

I'm looking to make an Armalite "machine pistol" type of gun as my next project. I'm seeing if anyone out there knows if there are any really short handguards out there. By short I mean shorter than Car-15 Handguards and such. The basic look of the gun will be just receiver all the same size of course, no stock, very short handguard with just the flash hider peeping out. I've looked for pictures, I have some, but most of those are real steel ones. Anyone out there also have a good design thats not also hard to mark out of metal? Thanks guys!

Gump has a "Patriot-Style" M4.....he no longer uses these boards, however. You may still be able to find pics on the net of his, though.

I used to have a patriot M4 as well. It was a PDI kit. Here's a picture:

This one used a large buffer tube to store the battery. But you can use an external battery bag/case or a redi-mag system with empty mag to store your battery. That way you can have no stock.

Thanks a lot guys, I think I'll make my own handguard becuase of the price. In that case, is there a way to connect a short outer barrel onto the gun? without having to chop a brand new one and rethreading it for the flash hider. What I mean is, what is a good solution to having an outer barrel for this set-up? I'm looking to make these instead of buying them. I could even make the handguards out of PVC!

This is an interesting find. I think I'll make a variation of this.

This is an interesting find. I think I'll make a variation of this. I'm mainly looking at the way he mounted the battery, other then that, the gun looks extremely...odd...

well here is my take on the patriot variation. Custom made front section and cut down mp5 stock...

That is an awesome idea. The thing is, in order for me to put my short handguard/silencer onto the reciever, I'm going to need to take the space of the delta ring, and use the threads on the upper reciever. By using those threads, I can't attach a chamber block on and thus I can't put an outer barrel on there. I guess i could just somehow attach the part of the outer barrel with the front sights ONTO the handguard/silencer. and just have the inner barrel free floating inside the handguard/silencer without an outer barrel piece there.

is the "patriot" a real gun? i thought it was a made up gun for metal gear solid 3. either way, it definitely looks cooler with the drum mag, as in mgs3.
