Hey lurking knight! Thanks for all the great suggestions!! I know what you mean, and that was my backup plan, cept Canadian Tire only has the 100$ CO2 Berettas guns which don't move at all. Not much better than my original wood block gun idea aside from saving me a little time, and costing me 200$ just on the guns.

I'll forgoes the usual rant about realistic guns in public places because of the vouch, but since most people won't be able to tell the difference, Canadian Tire for guns and paint. Or ideally just guns.

Also I assume you are going to FANEXPO who are a little more lenient with the gun rules then AN. sadly I won't be in attendance this year, however I am putting together a Steampunk costume for the AN Halloween party Last edited by R.I.T.Z; August 18th, 2011 at 01:54.. |

Oh never mind then. A local retailer has one in stock at a good price but it is too far away from you.
Still, I think that using the Crappy Tire guns is a better idea anyways.

Violin I said O -shaw- wa, not ottawa, which is apparently a 5 hour drive from sudbury. Sooo if your feeling like a long fun drive that could be an option I suppose =/. Think thats the closest retailer that has the sort of stuff your looking for.

Spring anything is hard to come by in Canada, not the usual fare I'm afraid. Last ditch idea I have would be to source blue guns used in training, depending on what your local tactical shop stocks this might be an option for the base of the project.
With a black basecoat and a layer of silver on top it should look the part. |

Yeah Blargh, I got that afterwards hahah sorry! Ottawa is about 5 hours away too. Either way it's too far
Yeah, R.I.T.Z I am going to Fanexpo. (also way into steampunk! I went to CNSE this year!) I was going to disable the hell out of anything I used, and orange tip the end, I'm just looking for something that has the basic shape of a Beretta that I can build off of. I think I'm gonna have to carve them out of wood. I can't see myself finding something in time to modify it. |

Yeah even a bluegun would be pretty great, but theres no where around here I could buy one. I'm running out of options, I'm afraid. Thanks everyone for all your help though!

One more: cap guns at Walmart, though it's been years since I bought one, YMMV.
