CYMA AK Side Mount not Engaging
Looking for help with a CYMA AK Side Mount. The nut doesn't tighten the clamp when I close the latch. Thus, I can't get the mount onto my VFC AK without a considerable amount of wobble.
Is normal to expect from the CYMA model? It looks like the nut should elevate when the latch is closed, but it simply rotates without pushing the clamp upwards. Does a fix for this problem exist, or is it simply the way it is? Here's a picture to help visualize what I have going on. The nut in the bottom image just rotates in place without pushing the clamp directly on top of it upwards. Thanks in advance for any and all help! i belive you have to manual tighten it, and the latch is a final bit of tightening/locking ..

there is slight variation in thickness of the "rail" thats why most of the mounts are adjustable. tighten the bottom nut while its attached to the rail.

there are little notches on the mount that corespond to tabs on the nut. you have to sort of pull it down, turn the nut to tighten, then let it spring back up and seat. then try it on the gun, and repeat if needed.

When you turn the lever, the bolt will do half a turn, so the clamp need to be tight already...
Good luck! |

Thanks for all your help,
The nut has two sides to it (one that is flush and one that has teeth). Is the flush side supposed to be in contact with the clamp, so that the nut can be tightened with the teeth on the bottom? It's alot harder to tighten the nut with the flush side on the bottom. |

Teeth should be pointing up when installed on the gun iirc.
