I have an m4 setup that does pretty good but I just want to try a sniper I think more for just the competitive shooting (with my friends) but I also want to see what it's like to play the "sniper role"

IMO it takes too long to switch in airsoft.
By the time you spot an enemy that you have to snipe, and you pull out your rifle, chances are they've already spotted you and opened fire.
Either go out as a sniper with a sidearm or small AEG, or go out with a carbine.

I think I'm going to do both, at different times. If I get a sniper rifle, I'll go out and look for a good sidearm, Then i can choose which one I want when i go out
