MP5K Brand Choice

Hey guys, I did a quick search and couldn't find much on reviews of the various brands on MP5Ks out there.

It's going to have a dual purpose. Firstly, it's going to be my backup/sidearm for sniping, which is my primary role. Secondly, my wife is considering joining me on the field, and she loves how small the design is.

So... My question is, of the brands I could find, the top three seem to be:
Tokyo Marui, Classic Army, and Galaxy. I'm pretty fond of TMs usually, but every design is different, so I could use some advice.

It needs to be respectable out of the box, but with some good possible upgrades in the future. I don't mind if it's used either, and there's a few in the classifieds that look promising. PMs or post here if you can help, thanks!

TM and Galaxy are plastic, while the CA is metal but also expensive. So for durability go for CA.
Price wise, the CA will be the most, followed by the TM then the Galaxy.

They're all V3 mechbox.

You forgot CYMA. They come with a heftier metal body than the CA and their internal parts are in spec with TM and are more durable.

I vote CA MP5K (mainly because I have one and it's worked well).

Both internally and externally, the CA is superior when compared to the competition.

It's got a real nice 7mm bearing gearbox too.

My Cyma is a beast, for a fraction of the $ of a CA.

It was one or the other, budget decided and I have no regrets.

Fraction off the cost when, you can have someone get it for you at a premium price huh Aegis? Otherwise you will not save alot more at Canadian price between the 2.

So for most people CA is the way to go, full metal like the CYMA, but better internals and more lightweight. The CYMA for my taste is too heavy and I prefer the trigger group of the A3. But this comes down to personal taste however...

How could an MP5K EVER be 'too heavy'?

Well the CYMA one weighs more than an M4...so for such a compact weapon IMO, it is too heavy

i can vouch for the Marui MP5K!! Range/Accuracy are OUTSTANDING!! 150ft semi-auto a man sized target 100% of the time!!! oh, and might i add that due to old spring, mines only firing at 240fps!!!

dont even bother with nimh batteries, go straight for a lipo! 7.4v to be safe, but if u plan on upgrading in the future, then id say go 11.1v (which i have and LOVE)!

I actually went for the TM MP5K-PDW. I was considering the CA, but I have had poor experience with CA internals, and I likely won't internally upgrade it for a while. Whereas almost my entire weapon collection is TM, and I have never had a problem with any of them. And I actually already ordered two stick lipos and a shoulder sling

Again, thanks for all the input guys!
