KWA G36 motor tuning
This is embarassing, I know this should be an easy fix, but I've spent hours of squealing motors.
I purchased the G36 from a friend, it had a manufacturer defect, and it was repaired, so now it was a refurbished unit. The gun was like new, The gun worked fine for a magazine of about 100, when the motor would start to squeal, (without adjusting, came loose from firing). So I gave it back to him, and he got it working again saying all he did was put in an allen key in the bottom and it worked fine again. So firing it once more with another magazine the same problem arises after about 50 shots. so I grab my imperial and metric allen keys and started counter and counter-clockwise motions on the bottom of the motor. But for some reason I can't find any middle ground, its either squealing at such high noise, it hurts my ears. Or the motor just spins freely. No matter what I do I can never get it to connect correctly to the gears. And most embarassing out of all this, I tried to disassemble the gun after watching videos on youtube. once I get to the part of taking off the magwell, I physically can't remove it. It won't budge even after removing the screws and pins. Any input would put a lot of ease to my mind. Thanks in advance, Oliver Balzer. Edit *Gun was fixed, Cause was striped screws and Bevel gear inside the gear box, replaced with some new ones and added lock tight.

ccw will disengage the motor, you want to turn it cw. after you get going again i'd suggest putting in some loctite as the motor height adjustment screw is very loose in kwa's.

The set screw is usually a M2 allen head. Some can be 1.5 too.
OR 1/16" SAE. You want to tighten it until it stop (do not force) and then unscrew from 1 to 2 turns. That is a good starting point. But I think that your problem is related to the motor instead. Sounds like it is the motor pinion that got lose from the motor shaft. It usually will create a very high pitch noise, like a grinding sound. Too tight motor will make a high pitch, but sound like gears a lot more. Too far will make a lower pitch that sounds like sand is in the gears (crunching kinda sound). Farther and the motor will just free-spin with barely any noise. |

Honestly, gundoc it. If there is a local one watch them if they let you but sounds like your in a bit over your head, however if you can get it back together and you cannot get the motor to sit further on your own then have a gundoc take a look, I think it would just cost you more money and time otherwise.
edit, misread 1 part I thought you couldnlt put it back together sorry. I still recommend a gundoc to show you around because they are sure to know all kidna of helpful tips in relation.

Yeah It seems like the way to go to watch the guy who sold it to me so I know for future reference. I'll just have to make due without the g36 for a couple weeks. Thanks for the input gentlemen. I still havnt managed to get it working.
