AIMS-74 vertical grip

Wondering if other guns have featured the wooden vertical grip on the handguard other than the romanian AIMS-74 ?

Hungarian AMD 65's do also. Romania and Hungary were the only Eastern Bloc countries to adapt the 'Donkey Dick' vertical grip on their AKM rifles.

good to know, the info I was looking for. Other question, were there ever full length (solid stock) AIMS-74 or AMD 65's ?

To be honest I just bought a vert grip like this for my AK and want to convince myself it exists and I'M keeping with some bits of realism here. Although for my Chechen rebel loadout it doesnt matter much but its still interesting.

full of logic that is. So i guess it IS possible that some Chechen stumbled across a romanian (or georgian which is more likely since they also use this variant) weapon cache at some point and found a lovely AIM74 to fight freedom with?

Romanian Kalashnikov's are probably one of the most proliferated weapons in history. Since the fall of Ceaucescu, Romania has exported millions and millions of AKM and AK-74 rifles.

Ceaucescu was so bent on defending his country in case of a Western attack, that arms factories literally made a rifle for every man, woman and child, in case of said invasion. You can find a Romanian AK in use in every third world conflict since the early 90's because of this.

Even today, Romak's are still being made in Romania -- and they offer excellent value. Bulgarians have also turned their Cold War gun making machine into a profitable business (See Arsenal Bulgaria).

Don't forget the Wasr 10's etc. I love the look of the blonde wood on those!
