ICS M4 mag catch installation
I'm having trouble fitting the mag catch on my ICS M4. Seems like it,s too big to fit in the hole of the lower part of the gearbox.

If its not an ICS catch you will have fitting issues you'll have to either get an ICS mag catch or modify the lower to accommodate the new catch...

by modify you mean like Dremel a bit the actual mag catch or make the hole in the lower bigger?
EDIT : i think that by gently hammering it in, it will fit. is that too risky to try? Last edited by Huge; May 14th, 2010 at 14:21.. |

You want to be able to move the catch with a single finger... better have a loose fit than hammer it in.
I have installed other brands of mag catches in ICS metal bodies... they should fit properly. If you have the clear receiver, it might be either a build-up of paint (of painted) or bad molding (The lower is already badlt molded and there is a gap between the two receivers). If you have a plastic body, modify the body with a small file. If you have a metal body, modify the catch instead, with a file again. A dremell will leave a rough surface and will probably make you remove extra material. |

True that... I meant catch not lower been at work for too long... After filing take some high grit sandpaper for body work like a 200 or so and smooth what you filed and repaint if its metal or it will rust.
