Masada mechbox removal

I got an A&K masada a few weeks back, and its great overall but shoots very soft, so I was going to swap mechboxes with one I built for my M16 a while back, but for the life of me I cant get the old box out, the only thing left holding it in are the selectors, like a sig 556 sorta dealie, and hte only was I can see of getting the box out is flexing the body out, but I started to try that and the polymer just doesnt seem nearly flexible enough to go far enough so I stopped for fear of cracking the reciever
anybody else have experience with the masada? everything about this gun has been a bitch to work on other than barrel/hopup work :S
