Free-Float vs non-Free Float

Does anyone here know the differences and or advantages of free float handguards over non free float, Id like to know what the advantages are on the real steel and are they the same in airsoft.

free float hand guard doesn't attach to the barrel so the barrel is completely independent of it, so if you put an anpeq, an m203 ect on your rails, it won't effect the barrel, as no weight would be transferred to it.

in airsoft, free floats seem to have some wobble issue with the unsupported barrels.

I'd be ALL over those free hugs hello hitler kitty.
And there's no issue what so ever with wobble on free floating RIS' depending how much you wanna spend on your gun and the RIS.
But if you don't want to spend alot of money, than your going to have wobble no matter what kind of RIS you slap on there...
