1.5X, 2X scopes: what to get and where
Hello all
I want a 1.5X scope. I've searched around a little bit and came up with mostly real scopes, some very seksy http://www.opticsplanet.net/bushnell...e-731424m.html http://scopehaven.com/product_info.php?products_id=49 http://www.hitguns.com/Red-Dot-Scope...dot-rtmz30.htm however none really worth it at UNcompany or Ehobby?*currentlychecking* do you people know of other 1.5X and up scopes that can be rail-mounted and not insanely expensive, red dots or not ? each time I use my AUG with the 1.5X scope I'm amazed at how efficient it is. I want to mount one on my pistol please post yer links here, thanks !

Bushnell Trophy Gold Series... They have a REALLY nice 45mm-ish 1.5X-6X scope that I use on my VSR-10.

Well that last one is a magnifier, so it's not meant to be used alone. You'd need a red dot sight with that, such as an EOTech or Aimpoint (CompM2/4 series are best for this).

Pistol optic, eh? I think you're into real steel only. You've got to have quite a bit of extended eye relief (the distance your eye can be from the lense) to be able to use it on a pistol properly.
Unless it says hangun scope/optic (or better yet lists the eye relief...rifle scopes will be ~2-4" or so...pistol scopes will be 16-20")...don't just go for what looks like it might work. Two of the items in your first post are rifle scopes...with small eye relief. Also...you want a pretty large piece of glass....not a little skinny tube (which is cheaper). 20mm is pretty small...and at arms length won't be all that helpful. 26-28mm doesn't sound much bigger...but it makes a difference. I think the largest common ones are 32-36mm? Tys |

if you want pistol scope, look no further. i use this on my M14 and its great. Plus, its adjustable, so you can mount it on a gun if you want and have ample level of magnification (canadian site as well):
http://www.riflescope-shop.com/ncstar/pistoleroseries I use the 2-7x scope. works great and haven't had an issue with it yet. |
