cammo colors need help with.
hi guys. im very new to airsoft, still getting most of my gear, and i am sort of at a standstill for cammo gear.
i really hate the look of digital woodland or any type of woodland cammo stuff, i'm more attracted to ACU or multicam color. to give you an example of what i plan on getting is here: http://www.opsgear.com/TRU-Combat-Shirt-p/atl-255.htm now as for a combat vest i am looking at the 5.11 VTAC LBE Tactical Vest. they got flat dark earth and OD color.. now my question after this long paragraph is if i take the ACU or multicam cammo, will i be spotted easy outdoors as if i have a "I'm here shoot me!" sign? Also what color vest should i take? reason i like the 5.11 is the mesh is very sturdy and the MOLLE after reviews seems to be better suited for my needs. also being a lefty helps putting a gun holster at the right spot for me. any and all suggestions are more than welcome. i appreciate your comments. |

From what I have seen multicam is very effective in many areas. Definately a good choice and looks badass. All depends on the environment you plan to play in ultimately though.

Multicam works, ACP(ACU) won't really work for airsoft purposes imo.

Multicam is the king.
IF your going to get a vest get a Multicam one or at least a Coyote Brown vest. Plus 5.11 dosent make very good vests, I recomend these: http://tinyurl.com/yl758pn

I'd say pick whichever color you WANT to wear, but buy a coyote brown rig, its just a bit more universal if you change to a different camoflage later on.

First off, it depends on what you're setting up for. Indoors? Outdoors? Skirmishing? Serious milsim?
Seeing are you're in the Greater Montreal Area, currently the only indoor games will be at Action 500. Honestly it doesn't matter much what you wear there, it won't blend in with the lovely day-glow pink and yellow goo that covers everything in that place. :P Are you buying it for looks, or do you want to maximize usefulness? If you're looking for serious outdoor games, specially milsim, there's a few things you'll want to consider: Like it or not, on the fields we play here the woodland color palette is king most of the year: US Woodland, WL MarPat, CadPat TW, Temperate DPM, Russian Flora, even Flecktarn. UCP (the name of the camo is Universal Camo Pattern, ACU [Army Combat Uniform] is the name of the garment/cut) will stick out in most situations (you have to know where/when to use it). The same is true, to a lesser extent, for Multicam (the pallet is too "deserty" and sticks out in our lush forests unless you really know when and how to use it, which most do not). Another point to consider is whom you'll be playing with. If you plan on playing at organized games here (if not, where will you be playing?) you may want to take into account certain camo restrictions etc for factions. Unless you have other sets of camo, you may find yourself left out with less common patterns. This is especially true of the serious milsim games where camo uniformity is imposed.
