another newbie silencer question, what is this "silencer fixture" for?

perfect shim +sorbo piston and cylinder head silence upgrade, silent motor (not sure which one) , it does work.

Looks like one of those suppressors that covers a few inches of barrel, not all of them have that, in fact, few do.

TM eg1000-silent motor? Nah, just quieter due to the pinion gear being a softer material. Sorbo pad set-ups work wonders. Foam lined cans- very effective. Gearbox whine- combos of active/ passive dampening techniques, like dynamat lining the inner spaces around your GB if you can, or shimmming your GB to perfection w/ breaking your gears in right, etc,etc. I use a combo of eg1000 motor, good shimming and a foam lined can. About 20' out- I just hear poof, poof and the whizz of the bb as it flies by my head. When my rifle is next to my ear, I hear the mechbox real good, especially the sound of the gears. Still working on getting rid of the whine just for my piece of mind.
