I hadn't actually planned on painting it just yet. I went out and got some half-finger gloves and some eye protection. I'm planning on going to the meet in Toronto tonight.
I have a relatively low quality aeg, not clearsoft but not good enough to be a known brand, that i'll be taking alongside the clearsoft I bought. I will be likely renting some real equipment from the host to get a feel for some of the options for purchasing. I'm also going to get AV'd tonight there hopefully and I'll take a look at the classifieds as soon as that's sorted and get something along the lines of the JG MP5SD6 for a starter gun. |

I take off for a day and you guys have turned acidictadpole from an airgun enthusiast to a TTAC3 guy? This is why I seek aid here.

Hah, yeah they've been very helpful. Just wait till my parents see my credit card bill in the next few months (while at uni they have it viewable on their banking site, i prefer it that way for some reason).

They don't mind me using it as long as im not overspending in university. My parents are really good at being leniant but being like windows firewall "Are you sure you want to do this" then i think about it and if i don't I'll change my mind.
It's really helpful. Currently I'm just hoping that my clearsoft guns stand up to the challenge tonight :P The p312 isn't that bad, 99m/s for the price I paid isn't terrible. |

So I'm back now from the Toronto meet. Had tons of fun.
I didn't actually use any of my guns. Probably a good thing since I only have a mini AEG, and the other unmentionable guns. The host rented me the use of a model of MP5, I think I heard someone say it was the JG but I didn't get it confirmed. It's definitely the kind of gun I would like, but I think I might start with a GBB pistol. I found the mp5 a little large with the mask that I have, so aiming down the sites is awkward. I'll probably ask a member or two next time I go down if I could try their pistols/guns before I go into a purchase. I Got AV'd there so when that takes effect I'll be browsing through the classifieds a bit for ballpark prices. And hopefully visiting an army surplus store soon for some better BDU gear. |

Usually you'll want to use a set of sealed ballistics (or the goggles part of the paintball mask if it's removable) and some sort of low profile teeth protection (eg. a neoprene mask which should reduce the velocity of a BB enough that it doesn't chip teeth, I personally use ballistics with a sykes mask.
That way you can actually use the sights effectively since it's all about the cheek weld. If you're required to have a paintball mask at your field (some paintball fields will not allow otherwise because they want to cover their ass for insurance reasons) then take a look at the "save phace" masks.
