Homemade Small to Large adaptor?

I recently recieved my G&G M4 Carbine Blowback. I want to run a Large Type battery in it but it runs off small batteries. I don't want to chop up the wires in the gun so if I took the ends off my small charge and a large and solder/spliced them together. Would that work as a converter without damaging the Gun?

I have a smart charger that can charger either type of battery so these charges really mean nothing to me.

It'll work, but make sure to reverse the wires, small Tamiya connectors and large connectors are reverse wired for some ungodly reason. Look at the ends of both connectors, you'll see a hole that is square, and one that is half square, half round. Then look at the black wire and the red/black wire and you'll see what I mean. Is a well known fact, or should be, but still, good thing you asked.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean.....

Are you talking about large and small connectors? or large and small batteries?

Large and Small connectors you'll have to splice and resolder the connectors either on your battery or your charger. Also I would personally redo the connectors with Deans instead of a large tamiya but that's just me.

Large and small batteries pretty much just describe the size of the battery (large will mean you can hold it in a rear stock for an M16 (brick style configuration) whereas a "small" battery means a smaller capacity and usually in a "nunchuck" or "stick" configuration.

Actually minis are more common in a brick config as well.

Lol, When in a pinch to use a mini I have used some funny things as an "adapter"...

Paperclips and ductape

Speaker wire and Hockey tape

Saulder and Electrical tape

Tinfoil and scotch tape.

Fun times.
