Head head bearing - Where does it go?

I have always run a piston head with a bearing in my V2. I just re-did my gearbox after the piston broke and got a new systema piston and an "action aluminum bearing set" for the piston head.

Now I swear my last setup had the bearing between the piston head and piston body. But with these new parts I just got, it seems the bearing goes inside the piston.

Which is the proper setup?

They ALWAYS go inside of the piston.

Thanks - and just to confirm, the tighter coils on the spring go to the rear of the gearbox?

Yes. A useful trick though is if it shoots over the limit by a bit, you can reverse the spring to drop the fps ad get it under. Helpful in a pinch if you if you can't wait for a new spring to come in.
