i would say the mp5 its light small and has pretty good accuracy umm the ak on other hand its really heavy i own one and i like more weight but the ak47 is pretty heavy for even 10 min into the game but its a great gun tho

Definitely go for a well cared for Marui or CA. Most people on the forums take good care of their weapons, and you score a chance of getting your hands on a properly upgraded gun for a good price. As for your weight dilemma, what about a G36C? Many different companies make them, Including Marui, CA, Jing Gong, and Echo 1. I've held a CA G36C before and it felt reasonably light. Plus, in can be used with a variety of different kits, and as an added bonus, if down the road your condition improves and you want a longer gun, swapping out the inner and outer barrel for a longer one is a snap.

My famas is a bit tedious to hold without a sling for too long. Either way, if you have back problems i highly recommend a good sling with padding.

I agree on the above with suggesting the SIG 552. I loved my TM 552, not too heavy, performed great with shooting qualities similar to the m4

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions! I have read all of them and I appreciate it greatly.

I havent really thought about a g36 because I would have thought the opposite... but it has always been attractive to me.

A couple of questions about them if you dont mind:

1. folding stock I believe? or does it depend?
2. what brands have good/decent g36?

I have a g36K and i personally love it, however if you are getting a G36 be sure to watch out for the mags because they are alot bigger and may not fit into a vest which you may be carrying. But onto G36C is a great choice its small, lightweight and there are alot of people using them these days. JG, TM, CA, SRC all make G36C. I would personally recommend the TM or the CA, but they are a bit more expensive. The JG if you want to keep the 400 price range.

Edit: And all airsoft G36 versions have a foldable stock.

I'd like to pipe up here and say MP5.

They are relatively lightweight, especially the ones with plastic uppers, and more importantly, you can carry 2 MP5 magazines for the weight and space of 1 M4 magazine. An MP5 with collapsible stock and 10 mags would do you well in my opinion. They fair quite well outdoors as well.

ares and star also make g36,g36k and g36c's. and all i have ever heard are amazing reviews about theirs. ( apparently they are on par with classic army )

i had a classic army g36 and a classic army g36k and their external quality is far superior to the TM that i got to handle.

they are extremely light weight and all have folding stocks.

... i really miss both of them now that they are gone

You could go check out the store at xtreme tactics in winnipeg. There are quite a few different models on display for sale (mostly AR's) and in the employee's private collections (the owners in particular) that they would likely be more than happy to let you handle if you ask, and get a feel for what suits your situation. Also i would go plastic to save weight.

The G36 is also an option. I have a G36E (the full size one) and although it's longer than a G3-SG1, it's only marginally heavier than an M4. The G36C is really short. I personally don't like them but they're still a great gun.

As for MP7, unless you're going to get a Marui don't bother. And the gun really isn't practical for outdoors.

I think I will do that! I haven't actually gone since they started retailing. Its worth a check . Thanks for the thought!

More questions...

I have thought a bit and I would like to think more closely about a g36.I was wonder on the G36 variants, is the difference in accuracy between the shorter barrel of a g36c vs. a g36k noticeable? Or is it purely cosmetic?
