Looking for an AK-47.

I’m a photographer and I want to do a photo shoot with an AK.

I’m looking for someone how can let me use theirs for an hour or so.

In exchange I would take a portrait of you with your gun, something cool you could use on you myspace or whatnot. (and a case of beer for your time)

I’m in Toronto, but can come out your way.

hi i'm new on here and saw you were talking about the kraken ak-47 and was wondering how good of a gun it was? and how you all feel about it as to using it on the field and if you've noticed any defects with it?

The piston doesn't seal properly in the cylinder, It's got a shitty, SHITTY spring guide and cylinder head...

And a clear body and awful furnature and batteries.. Oh, It's also wired for minis when the battery is large...

internally all this could be fixed for about 40 dollars, externally.. about 200 and you've got full wood / full metal.

Still cheaper than buying a Marui.. But then you have the problem that the marui parts may not be 100% correct tolerances... Like I did with my G36.

Get age verified, then I can get you a Kraken if you wish.

Yeah. Tolerances ARE different between Kraken and TM. This includes aftermarket items (IE, the AK74 reciever made by KA). It works, but if you look really really carefully there are some errors due to tolerances.

The problems:

-Kraken AK Front sight assembly is missing the front spring-loaded pin that allows the normal 14- barrel lug to hold in place. Also thanks to the horrid glue-job from the blaze orange tip, it's a bit tough to start threading things onto the AK front sight.
-Front post sight is a smidgen too small to allow the normal AK front-sight adjustment tool to work.
-Hopup bucking is virtually glued (or locktited) onto the barrel itself. Takes some effort to get off the first time.
-Wiring is horrible, cheap thin stuff that's not packed too well and doesn't lend to easy change to a stick battery.
-Lower reciever magwell is wider, causing standard mags to wobble back and forth. Fits a drum mag well enough though.
-Internals are pretty badly lubed, very similar to vaseline in texture.
-The internals can pretty much survive if you take out the ridiculous 370 spring, replace the nozzle or cylinderhead or both, and the piston. If you want to keep the 370 spring, replace the nylon or plastic bushings to be replaced with oilless ones, and the crappy spring guide to be replaced with a bearing one.

If you attempt to slap some TM furniture (this includes some aftermarket stuff)
-The spring that pushes against the bolt rod assembly to hold the top plate down is too large to fit standard recievers.
-Gas block assembly does not fit flush with lower reciever, there's a slight 1mm gap between where it should sit, and where it fits.
-Bolt plate assembly has an odd fit, and doesn't exactly fit flush with lower reciever/gas block.
-Outer Barrel/Foregrip tolerances are spaced about a milimeter longer than the TM, allowing some play with the foregrips and gasblock assembly.


Otherwise it's a decent beginner's gun. It pales in comparison to the solidity of my TM (Tolerances, fit and how it preformed out of the box), but with a bit of work it's a decent upgrade gun.

not to bad at all. the on gene pool medic has is black and has a wooden stock, pistol grip, and handguard. looks good and its cool to see some of the thing everyone has done with theirs

Two major problems for those who open their guns up alot

Threads are super weak for the selector leaver to mechbox screw

Selector leaver screw cover pops out randomly...unless you like useing gum or glue to keep it on.

Yeah that's another thing, it's made of plastic vs. the TM which is made of metal (which you could locktite). I guess you could superglue it in, but once it gets loose (which it inevitably does) there's not much you can do to it.

Anything that removes wood will help you fit it.

The ones at canadian tire are not the black lowers they are the clear. I can also confirm it has a metal gearshell

The best is that you open up Your gun and you apply paint from the inside so it wont get scrath at the field!
