Holster for Long Pistol?
Hey everyone.
I've got a 7" Hicapa, and I need a holster for it. A lot of the holsters that I like don't seem to be open at the bottom, to allow for a long gun to go through, and the ones that usually do have this capability are crappy or don't look good. So does anyone have any suggestions for one that could fit such a long pistol? Preferably one in tan/cb. Thanks for any input! Edit: To anyone who has the Flyye or Pantac "Versatile Holster" as seen here at WGC: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...tol%20Holsters Is this open at the bottom to allow for the gun to slide through more? I love the look of this holster.

Please tell me you're using this for IPSC/CAPS.
Otherwise you're SOL unless you want to use a generic nylon one. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Choose a pistol that's stock and in wide use and you'll have plenty of holster choices, or choose something unique and be severely limited with your choices for retention and carry. Combat guns go in combat holsters, IPSC guns stay on Ghost rails.

It'll be for IPSC eventually, whenever I get into that. But for now I still want to use it.
But that is what I figured. I will need one of those generic holsters that will let this thing fit. No real good holsters for guns that aren't modelled after a real one, I suppose.

I have that holster, techincally it's not open on the bottom .. it is but there is a "bar" that goes across the opening at the bottom. my glock 18c sits really low in it. might be an option for you to knock the bar out to fit something that long in it. new the holster is really tight, if you get it plan on leaving your pistol in it when your not using it. but for a "cheap" holster the multi mode strap works well

I am certainly not looking for a cheap holster. I would rather find something nicer that would fit it. I know a lot of the cheap ones will fit it because they fit basically anything, but they aren't comfortable and they move around too much.

mine doesn't seems to move, atleast the side to side walk people talk about, mine slides down a little, but I think that's the way I've set it, not the holster itself. on that note though it's still new .. couldn't tell you what it will be like later on once the material starts to loosen up.
I like it though...

just get a desert eagle or MK23 style holster. Tactical Tailor makes them.

If you're looking for a molle one, try sticking it in the radio pouch made for Sabers and MBITR, and also comes with a clip to hold it.

You could get a 1911 SERPA and cut off the bottom.....don't know if you want to do that though.
I use a 1911 SERPA for my Hicapa 5.1 |

HSGI MOLLE Holster. It's open at the bottom, shaped perfectly for the 1911/2011 and even has a mag retention strap.
