Cansoft products are largely specially made for Canadian retailers. They're usually unavailable for retail outside of Canada, so there's no point in trying to import them if you're not already a cansoft business.

I don't know what the mystery is to you. As you've said, plenty of references to clear receivers. A quick look at a cansoft AEG will tell you what that means.

Typically, the only legally importable guns from out of the country will be fully clear and horrible.

Essentially, to my understanding, the whole Cansoft idea was created as a method of clearing customs. As a general rule, if the gun looks real, with a solid paint scheme, then the odds of it clearing customs isvery, very low. Of course, there have been cases where these such AEGs have made it through customs, but they seem to be very few and far between. In an attempt to market products to Canada, major producers of these AEGs implemented a plan to produce their AEGs with clear lower receivers, which denotes the gun as "not real". These such AEGs have a much higher chance of clearing customs, with the small chance of being confiscated mainly attributed to the judgement of the customs officials. You never know, the official might be in a bad mood, just heard that his wife has cheated on him, and decide to be a prick and confiscate the item... Catch my drift?

The part of the gun that has the serial Number on it ( in a real gun ) needs to be made of clear material

So for most Rifles that is the lower receiver.
For common SMGs like the mp5 that is the upper receiver
for pistols it is the frame that must be clear

as a rule ... the largest part of the body must be clear to have the guns fall well within being classified as a "imitation" firearm ( ok to import by anyone) and not a "Replica Firearm" ( only importable with a special import license and not legal to retail to non BFL holders )
