Broken 1911 Pistol

Some springer I picked up that I put about 1500 rounds through
I don't want to have to go buy a new one, I'm tight on money right now
I took it apart to look at what was broken. I'll try and get some pictures in tomorrow. What was broken was a piece that pushes the pellet back (pushes it back in the magazine, and the pellet comes up) that also compresses and holds the back spring in place. The little notch that holds the back spring in place snapped off (stupid plastic).

So my real problem is whether or not gluing on the piece would hold it there. I could either try some krazy glue or epoxy, but I wanted all of your opinions first. It's a 1 joule springer, if that helps. Will the krazy glue/ epoxy hold it? Or would I get a replacement for the piece, or the whole gun itself?

Replacement parts for springers are few and far between. Your best bet is to just try your best at fixing it. That's really the only advice I can give.

Alright, thanks
I might just try and get a new one eventually, I got attacked to this one
My first airsoft, and I couldn't just throw it away, too much sedimentary value
If I had to, I'd try and get another springer with an open ejection port this time and a hammer. GBB would get the cops called on me for being more realistic

If you show any airsoft gun in public you will be at risk of that... I don't see how it could affect you plinking in the basement... unless you live with a by-the-rulebook cop... The only danger you can get from getting a GBB is inhaling too much propane...

Paranoid neighbors if I would be shooting in my backyard.
With some stupid clear spingers that's fine
Not with a GBB though
Firing away inside with a GBB would give me a headache I guess
I live in a good neighborhood, but I don't know if some passerby would call the cops on me for seeing me with a GBB. I don't want to be firing that stuff in public. I'm going to try krazy glue tomorrow. My friend said it should be stronger than the plastic itself

Your freedom ends where someone else's begin. In this case, your freedom to shoot a gun in your backyard ends when your "paranoid neighbors" feel unsafe.

Your freedom to shoot a gun in your backyard also ends when your actions put my collection at risk, since every bit of bad press in a step towards me loosing my stuff.

Seriously, if you can't fathom why your neighbors are uneasy with you shooting replica firearms in your backyard, you don't deserve to be here.

I'm not going to be shooting any of that stuff in public, and I know why I wouldn't be

1. It's in public and it looks like I have a gun in my hand if it's not clearsoft
2. My neighbors are sketchy on anything that isn't clearsoft
3. Some person driving by would see what appears to be a gun in my hands
4. It gives airsofters a bad name if I were to get caught

Simple solution would be to go to a farm or summer cottage or something. Somewhere where it's sparsely populated and there's little chance of anyone else seeing you and freaking out.

You could inform your neighbours that you're going to shoot your "pellet gun" at pop cans from 2-3 in the afternoon and not to worry. Tell them you've taken safety precautions, backstops, safety glasses and such. Where's the other problem? Is your backyard visible from the alley? If so I suggest making your fence higher (within city bylaws though). Note that if your neighbours are **those** kind of people it may be illegal in your jurisdiction to discharge an airgun (airsoft and .177 pellet guns) within city limits (city bylaw ending in a fine) and they may call the police.

Krazy glue should hold it well as long as you don't get too rough with it... IE Slamming the clip in to look cool. I wouldn't say it will be stronger then the original but it'll likely get you back plinking again in less than a minute.

I have a metal 1911 (KWC) and it's solid but the FPS has dropped dramatically, I must have a dead seal or something because it won't even fully penetrate 1/4" sheet of corrugeted cardboard.

I'm hoping the seals from a friend's 92FS may, in fact, fit and get it (the 1911) working again. After all, it's fun and looks sweet.

Good luck
