Metal Bodies

What is the average price of a metal receiver? I'm considering buying one once I turn 18 and get AVed(11 months to wait... time to save up). I'm curious as to how much I will be spending if I decide to get one.

Thanks

Depending on what model you want (AR, AK, etc..) and what kind of quality you want, you would be looking at about $100 for the lower end, and Ive seen ones go for about $750. Depends on the make, material, quality etc...

Around $80 for the crappiest of the crap low end "monkey metal" available. But if you want fairly decent quality, around $250-280 NIB is what it looks like it's going for. However keep note that there are some bodies that go for a lot (Inokatsu ones seem to be rare in Canada AND not to mention they're already expensive overseas so it's going to be a lot if you want one in Canada).

It also depends on receiver type. AK recievers are cheap, $80-$120. M4 receivers are in more popular, and go for $220+.

I would be looking for an MP5 receiver, I've been told that they are rare. Is that true?

Yup, you can count the number of good quality metal bodies that are sold in one year on your right hand (assuming you have all your fingers)

yes, yes they are. Also around $140-300 area (depending on brand) so you'll have to keep and eye out for it on the classifieds all the time once you get verified as they do pop up now and then.

Thanks a lot. I've got 11 months to save up, so I think that I will get a halfway decent one if the opportunity presents itself. Also, I stumbled across some metal bodies on a&a airsoft. They say that they aren't yet available, do you think that they ever will be? I was under the impression that he only place that you could (legally) get metal bodies was here, on ASC.

I'd give some links, but their site won't load at the moment... the bodies are in the parts/accessories section.

they don't sell anymore, and IIRC they ripped off ALLOT of people with their last gun order. Only retailers I know of that sell metal bodies (aside from a few element ak bodies) do all their business on asc classifieds.

MP5 metal bodies are about as easy to find as honest politicians. They pop up every now and then, but they're few and far between. And the cost a lot when they do.

For MP5 you would be much better off just buying an FMU MP5 than sourcing a metal body for it.
