Safety Glasses - Game legal?

I have had a question that's been bugging me for a while about safety gear: are glasses legal? I'm not asking about your average pair you get from Wal-Mart for $19.99, I am mainly referring to a pair somewhat like these:


I am asking this question mainly so I know what is ok to buy for my loadout, so if these aren't ok to use, please tell me.

hmm ! you should go with something are better than that, our eyes are priceless.

For the game, it's depend on hoster but usually when the game is in paint ball area, for insurance purpose you must wear the goggle with seal all direction. Hope it help.

dude they are your eyes!! you only get 1 set..... i was wearing some goggles that i got from my sykes mask.... i herd that they were NOT rated for airsoft..... i threw them out immedeatly!!!!!!!! i love my eyes

Yeah man pick up a set of CF ballistic Glasses or something... they're more expensive but your eyes are priceless! The CF Glasses can stop Shapnel!!!

To beat a dead horse, you only have two eyes! Sure you can loose one and still see, but then you wear an eye patch and everyone makes fun of you for looking like a feckin' pirate and your girlfriend leaves you for your best buddy and your dog pees on your leg...

That said, to be safe make sure you get yourself a paintball approved mask (full face), and then look around for some ballistic goggles/glasses if you want something streamlined for airsoft fields.

Anything with an ANSI+ rating on it is perfectly fine. (You'll see a little "ANSI+" stamped on the inside of the lense)

Just make sure they fit your face well and don't leave any huge open gaps that BB's could go into.

Well if they are ANSI 78.1 approved, they should be alright but you have to know the regulations where you play as well. ANSI 78.1 is kind of the standard minimum for eye protection.

Ideally, sealed goggles are the best choices, as there is no gap to allow BBs in. Most fields (particularly if they're paintball fields) will only accept paintball goggles for insurance purposes. Non-paintball field games will allow ballistic goggles. Some will only allow goggles, others will allow shooting glasses with ballistic lenses.

But in the end, it comes down to protecting your eyes. $50-ish for a pair of good ballistic goggles is worth it.

I agree about the safety end of it, the glasses I posted were ballisic glasses similar to what the army uses. However, sealed goggles do seem like the more adequate route, and there are some nice looking goggles I found that don't get in the way. Thanks for the input, and for Lerch's somewhat informative analysis.
