Whats in the box?

Hmm whats this Russian Marked Package on my porch?

Is it something fun?

Hmmm look neat

Why yes! It is something fun!

It's a Sphera Russian Helmet! Woohoo! This is a current issue Russian helmet and man does it weigh a freakin ton.

Putting it together

Done! With VSR Cover

Inside

It's a very neat design. The two side plates are placed in the helmet holder first, then laced up to the size of the helmet you want. You then overlap the large top plate, lace that up, put another cover, and the top cover goes on.
I'm pretty sure it's the Steel version, but there is a Titanium version out there.
It's pretty close to the holy grail for Russian collecters as it's a fairly rare item.
Questions? feel free to ask me about it.

I managed to procure it through a gentleman in Russia. Normally these cost quite a bit but I managed to get a very good deal with a bit of haggleing.
This more of a collecters item though, it's extremely heavy (Heavier then Canadian kevlar) so I don't think i'd do much gaming with it. It'll look great in photo ops though.

I'm not sure what the Russian markings are but i'd be curious to know myself too.

Way to go man! I've been hunting for one of those helmets for a while now. Found only one so far.
GiordanoWC, ГЦМПП stands for main center of mail transfer, than there is a word Moscow in the bottom line.

It means STSh-81 Sphera (Special Titanium Helmet- Model 1981). This helmet is used by the Russian spetsnaz MVD (VV Osnaz). It consists of four titanium steel plates stopping Makarov rounds and MP5 rounds in close range. You are lucky to obtain this item. They do not make them any more. They are being replaced by the Maska i Kaska K6 series by NIISTALI. This is the original one. There are modern Steel ones since 1994, They are called SSSh-94 Sphera-P, and the Sphera-S. I have a Sphera-P, and an STSh-81. My STSh-81 came in a similar box with a carrying bag, snow and a Schofield VSR camo covers. What did yours come with? By the way I got mine from a guy who's friend was in the OMSN (previously SOBR).GISH BY THE WAY, YOU ARE A PROUD NEW OWNER OF A TITANIUM SPHERA HELMET!!!!
