Orange Barrel...(n00bish)

Ok I've had an airsoft rifle for over a year, but I've just used it for target practice. Anyway I'm sure someone else asked this before but I searched it for half hour and I couldn't find it. Dealers say that it's illegal to colour over or remove the orange barrel...only in all of your pictures of your airsoft guns it seems that the barrel was either replaced or coloured over some how. What I want to know is if it's legal/illegal and if they allow this in fields and homes(obviosly they won't allow it in public). Thanks.

You really really, need to read the FAQ.

The orange tip is mandatory in the U.S.

US = Orange Tip
Canada = no Orange Tip
