Crane stock issue. Wires to long?
Ok so it seems lots of people have issues with installing batteries into crane stocks and I'm in that group but having looked at the whole setup a lot and having read the How To guide on the matter I'm wondering is the wire in my gun's buffer tube to long? It seems with the battery having a reasonably long wire you wouldn't need the gun's wire to realy extend to far out the back but when pulled straight the end of the connector is a full 7" from the back end of the buffer tube. I'm not sure and I don't wanna mess anything up but it looks like the excess length is bundling up and getting in the way of the first and second positions of my stock.
Should it be shorter? Would that help? |

I keep it at 1" longer as I always re-wire my guns with better wires.
Since I use some ultra soft silicon wire, I add a layer of heat shrink over the wires and spin it so that the wires will hug the walls of the buffer tube and get pushed properly when the battery goes in. |
