Echo 1 MP5 RIS/RAS
I got this gun about a month ago http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=2610 and it has worked extremely well but I was wondering about the consistency of it. I was reading some articles and they said that a spring over 400FPS will detiorate the motor and the gun faster than a 360FPS gun. Is this true? Also, should I get gloves? Wouldn't they make it hard to do finer tasks and such?

Nothing to do with the motor but the version 2 mechbox will eventually crack over a period of usage with an over 400 FPS spring.
Gloves are completely up to you.

The tighter the spring, the more stress is on the gearbox and all its innards. I put my guns to 350 cause thats a safe velocity and is allowed in an indoor arena in a nearby city.
I wear oakley assault gloves and love them, hand shots suck. |

How can you lower the spring power cause that was the stock FPS

Springs can be swapped out to change the FPS. A cheaper method is to take the spring and physically cut a coil or two off, however results vary with that method.

Take it to a gundoc in your area.
A quick spring change shouldn't cost you more then 25 bucks labour+12 for the spring.

A spring swap will probably be the easiest thing you'll even do on an AEG mechbox.

Dont even think about taking apart this gun without any instructions because it has many screws and areas you have to watch out for. The first time i took it apart took me 2 hours and another hour to put it back again. But now i can pull apart this baby in 15 minutes or less and have been able to maintain my gun without going to a gun doc which saves me a lot of money and i have gone through 30,000 bb's with only changing the piston and bushings and im still at 400fps. But its safer if you just try to find a good gun doc to downgrade the spring, but if you are really serious about this hobby you should start doing research and ask a lot of veterans to learn to be able to tend to your own gun.

Thanks for the advice but I won't be in the sport for another 2/3 years.
