Silencing my motor?

Hey guys. just wondering if any of you had an idea of how to quiet the noise of my motor when i shoot. i have 2 jg guns and whenever they shoot you can hear the motor, like most of the AEG's out there. however someone told me about some kinda foam you can put in the motor area that will lessen the noise. any other suggestions

p.s im on a tight budget so home made things would be perfect

What you can do with noise reduction foam depends entirely on the model of gun you have. For example, its alot easier to dampen a M14 or Famas due to the large amount of space in the hollow stock. but M4's grip is already jam packed as it is. So your gonna be SOL if ur running armalites. alot of the noise is commonly due to your motor not adjusted properly and your shim job. The other thing you have to consider is the heat. If your using high performance motors or high current motors, they might heat up, by blocking the grips/stocks with foam or other noise reduction materials you may be blocking the airflow, which may cause your motor/battery to overheat. This is really only a problem with high voltage/amperage batteries, motors, etc.

thanks makes sense

just being curious and ill try adjusting my motor but i dont think that will make it any quieter... but hey i would have never thought about ear plugs. maybe ill sneak around the field and stick them in my enemies ears so they cant hear my gun go off. lol
