Silcon Oil (spray)

Just ran out of the oil I got with my propane kit and was wondering if this http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en

Would work the same way?
I know its a very noob question but... meh

I wouldn't use that. As in, I did use that, and it gunked up my pistol to the point where I needed to replace a couple of O-Rings because the slide would jam back halfway and vent into my face. At least it was on a WE instead of my KSC.

Anyway, if you want good oil, hit up airsoftparts.ca or torontoairsoft.com... they have what you're looking for.

That oil is great for automotive stuff. For GBB's though? No.

Problem with that stuff, or most automotive silicones is that they contain Petrolium, which likes to munch away on the type of rubber that O-rings are commonly made of. Or atleast overly inflate them in comparison to the airsoft oil.

anything that has propellant (sprays from a can) like that will have petroleum distillates in it, and petro products tend to degrade or swell rubber seals, even in automotive applications, but the rubber in airsoft guns are far more sensitive to it.

So sprays like that are generally bad for airsoft guns.

Go to your local hobby store and get RC bearing oil, it's silicone, it comes in various weights lighter than the airsoft stuff, and it's non propelled, and in most cases, they come in pen or vials that are squeezable and have needles for ultra accurate application.

Ryan92 go to Cellar Dweller on Main St. they sell something called Shock oil and it coloured for each type of oil.

Every dollar store that I've ever been to sells aerosol cans of silicon oil. Check em out.

10-15 wt. RC Shock Oil will be a perfect replacement in a pinch. The AI stuff is a bit lighter but the "heavier" stuff will be fine and stick to the parts in the GBB better.

PS: Finishline Teflon lube is great for slide rails and other parts that see a lot of metal on metal contact. Also it's great for lubing AEG gears in "dirty" climates (lots of sand/dust/dirt).
