Where to get: Russian infantry Reenactment gear?
I'm looking to get a basic russian infantry setup going, just not really sure what is a reliable place to get the stuff.
http://collectrussia.com/showcat.htm?cat=reenactor I've found this place, the prices seem great. Just you can never tell with some of these sites. Has anyone dealt or know anyone that has dealt with these folks? I can pretty much nail off my whole impression through this site if so. Thanks. |

Good man!
I was thinking about getting a kit together for few years now - the only thing holding me back is being the only Red on the field full of Allies and Axis... Give these guys a try. I know people bough stuff there with success. http://www.frontofrussia.com/army.html Oh, and there is stuff popping up on Red Alliance all the time too. It seems Hikishop (http://hikishop.com/wwii-soviet-unio...ms-c-5_18.html) has gotten some Red Army stuff, and they are pretty reliable, meaning I've ordered from them a few times before.

How is the quality of Hikishops stuff? I keep hearing mixed opinions, but i know they are reliable. If so I'll prolly go with them! Thanks ! |

Awesome
![]() Okay, another thing i've heard when it comes to ordering from asia is that the sizing is weird. Like if say i'm generally a L size guy, I'd have to order XL or something like that? Are they good for matching to US sizing? |

I have a couple of pieces from Hikishop, it's decent enough quality for airsoft but I wouldn't recommend just rushing thru the brush willy nilly in it. Used the uniform twice and it's holding up decently.

I was actually thinking of getting a russian kit not too long ago. I find that a russian kit would be one of the cheapest. If you examine photos of red army soldiers during the second world war, they often only carry the bare minimum, magazine pouch, uniform (depending on season some are cheaper than others), canteen, sometimes a rucksack and a ground cloth. I think that a reason for not many russians is the lack of weapons available on the market however theres a sticky somewherre(I think) with pretty witty and ingeneous convertions ranging from a simple burlap rap to a complete overhaul.
I say go for it! I may change my mind (again..) and follow in your steps. |

WW2 Russian impressions are the cheapest out of them all. They say if you want to get into reenacting but don't have the cash for US or German, start as a Russian

I would gladly complete a basic wwii russian infantryman impression for an ostfront game in our neck of the woods.

Mosin and PPSH ia really all you need for wwii impression. Most units, especially in the first years of the war did not have access to MGs of any sort. Gearbis cheap for sure and is very basic.
And I hear there is a 'big' wwii game is coming up or something :-) |
