Battery adapters

Hi,

I've got some batteries I was using with an RC car, and wanted to use them with my airsoft guns. They are Venom 7.2v high power NiMH 4200mah batteries.

The adapter is wrong though. Anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to convert it over to mini tamiya standard adapter?

I couldn't find adapters for sale, so I thought about asking people for their old dead batteries and then splicing/heat shrinking the new adapter on? Please see the two photos attached.

Also... the gauge of the wires on my batteries is pretty high. Should I be worried about sending too much power into the airsoft gun motor?

Thanks for any help and tips in advance!
