20c is alittle too much for airsoft, you should use lipos with 12C.
The motor can get hot because of a few reasons:
1.The spring is too strong
2.Bad shimming(Too tight, too many shims)
3.Bad motor adjustment(Too tight up)
There are more but that's usually the case. Most of the time it's reason 2 or 3 for gearbox virgins who just got into tuning.
